Milk It!

I am an undergrad right now, but my plans are to go to law school. I had to take the dreaded LSAT this past Saturday, and it was not the way I wished to spend my weekend. I woke up early, my eyes felt like lead, and my stomach was in knots. I got to the testing center at 7:45 and finally left at 1:30. It was a long day. BUT, i was able to milk it for a full day of college football.

When I got home, my wonderful supportive wife, was so happy to have her husband back. She told me it was my day. I told her my head hurt, I was tired, and i could really go for some college football. My beautiful wife obliged and I was able to sit in front of the T.V. for countless hours watching television.

The best part about the day, for over an hour my wife rubbed my neck, back, and face to help me get all the stress out. I was able to watch the Gamecocks upset the Tide, see the Cougars get their mojo back, and saw my Trojans lose in the last seconds. The LSAT sucked, but I sure got a great deal for taking it.

Men, when you are "sacrificing" for the family, MILK IT! The wife, for a only a day, will let you be KING of the house.

The Top Five Finishes in College Football History

I am not sure if I agree with all of these picks, but they sure were some great games! This had some interesting games, but I think there are some that don't deserve to be in the top five. I think USC vs. Texas is in there, BSU vs OU, and those are just a few more recent examples. I will give you my top five tomorrow.

What are your top five?

What A Day!

Today was one of the best weeks of college football in a long time. There were good games on all day, and some serious upsets. The biggest upset was obviously the Tide going down to the Gamecocks. I was happy to see Spurier get a big win. I honestly think this is his biggest win since his National Championship back in the mid 90s. The crowd was deafening, emotions running high, and my eyes couldn't believe what they were seeing when the time ran out and SC won.

The next big game was LSUvs FU. Who in the world could have seen the fake field goal coming in the final seconds of the game. The Tigers have been under a fine microscope lately, but I think they proved that they are a legit team. The haters who were saying they couldn't manage the clock were wrong tonight. I love to see the Gators lose.

What does the Alabama lose mean to TCU and BCU? Not much. The BCS is a flawed system that keeps the underdogs down. They will do whatever they can to keep BSU and TCU out of the spotlight. What a week!

What Is A Leader?

There is a certain player of BYU's football team who made some interesting comments yesterday. When I heard what he said, I could not believe my ears. The player was criticizing his team for not having heart, being lazy, and not caring about their season. It would be one thing if this was coming from a leader on the team, but this guy's hands are so slippery he has had more fumbles than catches (and no that is not an exaggeration)!

When I think of a leader, you have to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. I hate to see other players call people out, when they are not doing anything to help the team, in fact, most of time they are part of the problem on the team.

This is what I think should be a leader: plays hard in practice, performs at a high level in games, takes responsibility, makes others better around him, and demands the respect of his team. If you want to be critical of your team in any way, you better have the respect and the stats to back it all up.

What do you think?

The Wife Won

Sometimes in life, you have to concede to the wife. I love my wife to death, and I appreciate her keeping my feet on the ground, and my head in the clouds. As you all know, I am a little obsessed with college football. There were sooooo many good games on this weekend, it was virtually impossible to catch them all. Yet, my wife was quick to remind me that there was something more important on: General Conference.

Twice a year, my church does a world wide broadcast. It is four hours on Saturday and four hours on Sunday. This weekend was that conference. I had the predicament of watching football, or being spiritually enlightened. Of course my mind wanted to pick football, but my wife reminded me of what was really important. She reminded me that if Prophets and Apostles were speaking to the world, which I believe my church leaders to be, wouldn't it be more important to listen to them. Begrudgingly I agreed with her, and we decided to watch conference together.

Then my wife had a stroke of brilliance, she suggested that we DVR the games. That way I could get the best of both worlds. So we DVRed the Oregon game, as well as the Alabama game. Although I didn't get to see all the games I wanted, I was grateful that my wife reminded me of my more important priorities. After all, they are just games; at least that last weekend they were.

Predictions For Today

I have a few predictions for the games today. I think that OU will finally be defeated this week. They have had some close calls throughout the season, and I think this is a game they lose. The game is always close, but I predict that Texas will be out to win today; especially after the embarrassing loss to UCLA last week.

Florida will lose to Alabama. I think that the game will be close, but I think Alabama has a better, more mature team this year. I don't want to underestimate Urban and his coaching staff, but I think that Alabama just has better athletes this year. I am predicting Alabama by 10.

The one upset I can see today is Stanford over Oregon. I have thought that Stanford has been over-rated this year, but I am now a believer. I can't wait for the games today. It will be a lot of time in front of the T.V. today. In a half hour, I think I will spend the next hours on the couch! Oh, how great this season is.
